About Me

I’m Chelsea, an unreliable narrator. Thirty-eight years into life and I still can’t tell a factual story without the unrealistic embellishments that make it worth listening to.

I split my time between the Florida Panhandle and the San Juan Islands in Washington State, which feels like living in two different novels at once. By trade, I fly wildland fire – for fun, I fly a 1946 Cessna 140 and occasionally live on a sailboat.

Somewhat recently, I developed a full-blown obsession with the Golden Age of Piracy. This site is where that plays out – writing, photography, and the slow, stubborn pursuit of becoming the world’s greatest historian on the subject.

No promises.
